Suzannah is a New York City-based contemporary dancer and dance educator with a BFA from Trinity Laban Conservatoire and MA in Dance Education from NYU’s Steinhardt School. Growing up as a competitive gymnast, Suzannah began dancing at age 14 at the New Jersey School of Ballet under Carolyn Clark, later studying at Boston University and participating in prestigious summer programs, including the American Ballet Theatre.
Her international experience includes training with Vertigo Dance Company in Israel and performing repertoire by Mats Ek, Ohad Naharin, Rami Beer, Eyal Dadon, and others at the Kibbutz Gaaton Dance Workshop and Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company Dance Journey Program. At the Laban Conservatoire, she performed works by Wayne McGregor and Maciej Kuzminski, and others. She was invited to train alongside the Staatstheater Kassel and GotenbourgDanskompani and participated in a research and development with Liz Roche Company. She was also invited to perform with Maxine Doyle’s Punchdrunk for a collaboration with Selfridges. On returning to the United States, Suzannah worked in administrative roles at Gibney Dance and joined Brice Mousset’s Company, Oui Danse, for their 2018 season at New York Live Arts.
After receiving her yoga instructor certification from the Kripalu Center, Suzannah began teaching dance, offering classes in contemporary dance, ballet, creative movement and composition. She co-choreographed the dance film FLOODSTREAM with Erin K. McNulty, which garnered multiple accolades in both the US and Europe. As a lead teacher at Motion Arts Dance Studios, Suzannah developed pre-pointe and contemporary dance programs that helped students gain admission to top university dance programs. In 2023, she began her Pilates certification through The Space School, further integrating anatomy into her teaching.
Recently, Suzannah was invited to present a work-in-progress of her newest piece, Olivia, at Arts on Site, and at NYU’s Frederick Lowe Theater. She currently teaches at the 92nd street Y in New York City within the Dance Education Lab programming.
Suzannah continues to refine her choreographic voice, embracing transparency, creative freedom, and adaptability in both her teaching and artistic practice to foster a nurturing yet rigorous environment for all.
